Waimangu Volcanic Valley is operated under a lease as a Department of Conservation-administered Scenic Reserve. This lease was signed in September 1990. Waimangu Volcanic Valley Ltd is owned by the Harvey James Family Trust. Harvey James is the Chief Executive of Waimangu Volcanic Valley Ltd.
Our aim is to be New Zealand's leading eco tourism destination. We are members of the Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter and are proud that our efforts have been rewarded with several New Zealand eco tourism and service to the environment awards.
