Waimangu Volcanic Valley is operated under a lease (signed in September 1990) as a Department of Conservation-administered Scenic Reserve.
Our aim is to be New Zealand's leading eco tourism destination.
We are members of the Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter. Our efforts to date have been rewarded with several New Zealand awards for eco tourism and service to the environment.
Waimangu Volcanic Valley Ltd is owned by the Harvey James Family Trust. Harvey James is the Chief Executive of Waimangu Volcanic Valley Ltd.
