Waimangu Family Pass

Family Packages

Waimangu Volcanic Valley is an ideal thing to do in Rotorua for families. You can explore at your own pace with a self-guided walk, and return to the visitor centre by free internal bus from any of our bus stops, or learn about the Pink and White Terraces on the Lake Rotomahana Boat Cruise.

You will be given an explorer guide on arrival or use the Waimangu App to make an educational experience for the whole family.

The Waimangu App allows you to unlock hidden content and find out more about what’s right in front of your eyes. The app is easy to use and a fun way for children to engage with the environment.

Bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the many beautiful picnic areas, or the café has a selection of food and drink to suit all ages.

  • A peaceful quiet walk in the rain. We came here on a rainy day, as there wasn’t much else to do outside when in rains in Rotorua. Along the way there is steaming lakes, bubbling sulfurous hot water vents, mini geysers and waterfalls and some nice silica sinter…
