We cater to a wide array of education, special interest, touring, and corporate groups.

Waimangu Volcanic Valley is one of the most unique group activities in Rotorua. At your request, we can arrange a personalised package to suit any group, from work functions to school trips. Tours will take you through our easy walking trails, or even out onto Lake Rotomahana, with spectacular geothermal features constant throughout. Guided or self-guided options are available, according to your requirements.

Geothermal Valley Walk

Guided or self-guided options. Includes free internal shuttle bus to return to visitor centre or to bus between areas and reduce walking times.

Lake Rotomahana Boat Cruise

The Ariki Moana can be chartered for groups of up to 35 people for a private cruise on Lake Rotomahana.

Meeting & Function Space

The Waimangu Local Store & Café and visitor centre can be booked as a unique function venue, with a number of options to suit different group sizes up to 100 people.

  • A peaceful quiet walk in the rain. We came here on a rainy day, as there wasn’t much else to do outside when in rains in Rotorua. Staff was nice and walked us through the bus stops and how everything worked there. We paid the additional $5 to rent a heat thermometer gun (not sure was the actual name of it is).
